The Sheriff of the City of Buena Vista is Randy Hamilton and has been serving the city since 1996. The Sheriff is a Constitutional Officer elected by the citizens of Buena Vista for a term of four years.

The Buena Vista Sheriff’s Office is responsible for:

• Court security
• Civil process
• Inmate transports
• Extraditions
• Evictions
• Court ordered community service
• Animal control

Office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
